The FIT Toy Design laboratory is a place where creative excellence intersects with business savvy.

Core courses conducted in this comprehensive learning environment include the design and engineering of hard and soft toys, game and doll design, product safety, child psychology, motor learning development, computers, packaging, marketing, promotion and the business of toys. The toy lab provides an environment that is designed to truly enhance the creative person’s educational experience. It blends state-of-the-art technology, design philosophy, teaching  guidance, and playfulness.

  • Research Library

    Students have access to a department-dedicated computer lab and archive of books and periodicals located directly within the toy program lab space.

  • Design Lab

    The Lab is the hub around which all the components of the department come to life. Designers are able to work seamlessly through all processes 

  • Industrial Shop

    The Toy Design shop is the essential hands-on workspace. It is the place where the seed of an idea is crafted into a tangible product for children.
